Essential Practice Elements of ABA in the Treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders

  • comprehensive behavior and skills assessments conducted by a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA)

  • development of treatment and behavior intervention plan which targets the child’s social and learning environment

  • on-going collection, quantification, and analysis of direct observational data

  • on going and frequent assessment, analysis, and adjustments to treatment plan based on the progress of the learner

  • delivery of treatment protocol by trained behavioral instructors

  • comprehensive infrastructure for supervision provided by the BCBA to the behavioral instructor

  • direct support, consultation and training provided by the BCBA to the parents, family members, caregivers, and educators
