Caregiver Behavioral Skills Training

Parent and caregiver behavioral skills training are provided directly by the BCBA to the parent with or without the child present to develop and acquire the behavioral skills to support and bolster treatment success and progress. Parent and caregiver training is also provided to promote generalization of the skills your child has acquired during 1:1 behavioral services with an instructor. This ensures that when your child acquires and masters a new skill with an instructor or BCBA, the skill continues to occur with family members, new environments, and new unique situations.

Caregiver Behavioral Skills Training may include:

  • teaching principles of applied behavior analysis to the caregiver

  • modeling and practice of behavioral procedures

  • feedback and training provided by the BCBA to the caregiver

  • training implementation of behavior plan

  • in the moment coaching and feedback during challenging situations

  • collaboration and discussion of progress surrounding treatment

Caregiver Behavioral Skills training ensures that parents, family members, caregivers and educators are equipped with the necessary tools to teach a new skill and or respond when challenging and or unique situations arise.
